Terms of Service
By creating an account on OriginTwin you agree to these terms. They're short. Read them.
1. What OriginTwin is
OriginTwin is a private journaling and self-reflection tool that builds a personalised conversational model from the answers you give to the questions and dilemmas it asks you. We call that personalised model your "twin". You can talk to it. You can choose, if you want, to leave it for people you trust to talk to after you're gone.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password (or OAuth provider credentials) safe. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, whichever is higher). One account per person. Don't impersonate others.
3. The content you put in
You retain ownership of the answers, dilemmas, and chat content you submit to OriginTwin. You give us a non-exclusive licence to store them, process them through the model providers we use (see the Privacy Policy), and surface them back to you and to the people you've explicitly invited.
Don't submit content that's illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or describes plans to harm others. We can suspend or delete accounts that do.
4. The content the twin generates
Your twin's responses are produced by a large language model, not by a real person. They reflect patterns from your own past answers but are not statements you have made. Don't treat them as authoritative — they're a mirror, not an oracle. Don't use the twin as a substitute for medical, legal, or mental-health advice.
5. Legacy mode
Legacy mode is opt-in and reversible until it isn't. The verification process you configure determines when the people you designate can talk to your twin after you're gone. You alone control who, when, and how much. You can change those rules any time you're still around.
6. Service availability
OriginTwin is a small operation. We aim for high availability but don't promise uptime SLAs. We may pause, change, or terminate the service. If we do, we'll give you a way to export your data first.
7. Pricing
OriginTwin is free during the early-access period. If we add a paid tier, current users will be told the terms before any charge.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Delete My Account) or by emailing us. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OriginTwin's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or zero if you haven't paid anything.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved by direct contact at hello@origintwin.com.
12. Changes
We'll update this page when the terms change and notify registered users by email before material changes take effect.
These terms are the operator's plain-English description of the arrangement. They are not a substitute for legal counsel.
